THE BULL'S 2ND BIRTHDAY & CHRISTMAS PARTY - 4th December 2009

The dust has settled after a fantastic party last night - a packed pub, festive ales, hearty stew and a great band helped the proceedings along nicely!

It's amazing to say that The Bull is already two years old, it only seems like yesterday that we were all running round trying to get the pub ready for its opening night!

Once again, we would like to thank all of our guests who have supported us over the last two years - its been a pleasure looking after you and we hope we can continue to do so over the forthcoming years!

CHARITY AT THE BULL - SUMMER 2009

What a summer we have had so far in 2009 - we have held two events and supported four charities, and with the help of people below, we have helped raise over £8,000 for charity.

Firstly, on Friday 19th June The Bull held a ladies lunch in aid of North West Air Ambulance & Nightingale House.  After a two course lunch all the guests took part in a silent auction with lots such as a weeks stay in a cottage on Anglesey, a Virgin Hot Air Balloon ride and a round of golf on the Jack Niclaus course at Carden Park were on offer.  In the end all the lots went and we raised £2,000 to be split between the two charities!

On Sunday 21st June we held a Summer Fete in association with Shocklach School, in aid of The Shocklach & Threapwood School Association.  With stalls and traditional games such as welly throwing, penalty shoot out and the tug o war taking place at the school, and face painting, a draw your competition and a kids tea party taking place at The Bull, the whole event raised £1,000 for school improvements.

And finally, Jon took part in the MS Challenge with a team from Whitchurch Rugby Club, and they raised £3,000 for the Multiple Scerosis centre in Chester.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped with the organisation of all the above events and, in particular, all of you who kindly donated to all the good causes.

THE BULL'S FIRST BIRTHDAY - 1st December 2008

Its been a long journey since we first looked at The Bull in early 2007. We've taken a closed, tired looking pub and turned it into the centre of the village, a place that the beautiful village of Shocklach is proud to have as its "local".

But we couldn't have done it on our own. We would like to thank all the regular guests that pop into The Bull for a quick pint, light snack or hearty meal. The support we have had from the residents of Shocklach and much further afield has been fantastic and we are eternally grateful.

We would also like to say a big thank you to all of our suppliers who work hard to provide us with the high quality produce that is at the core of our ever growing reputation.

We have enjoyed every minute of our first year at The Bull and look forward to many more to come!
